Sustainability

"Hilton was founded on the noble premise that travel can make the world a better place and that premise still guide us today"

Hilton has set specific targets for reducing its environmental impact, such as reducing carbon emissions by 61% by 2030 and reducing water consumption by 50% by 2030. The company has been recognized for its sustainability efforts by organizations such as the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices, the Carbon Disclosure Project, and the World Travel & Tourism Council.

Hilton Salwa's Contribution

The hotel industry has a significant impact on the environment, and reducing its environmental footprint is critical. Hilton Salwa Beach Resort & Villas has taken several measures to reduce our environmental impact, including beach cleaning, waste reduction, and carbon emissions.

Our team rolled up their sleeves as we cleaned up the beach together, embodying our work culture, hosted by the Blue Energy Team.

Earth Hour

To honor Earth Hour, Blue Energy made a heartfelt gesture last March 23rd, from 8:30 to 9:30 in the evening, lights at our Team Member's Village were switched off and embraced the soft glow of the candlelight. It was a serene moment, connecting with nature and showing our commitment to sustainability.

Gardener’s Appreciation

Salwa team organized a heartfelt initiative that didn’t only provide nourishment but also brought warmth to unprivileged yet hardworking gardeners. The money raised from Hilton Salwa's Garage Sale fueled a project that allowed us to prepare the laborers a delicious and filling lunch and give them winter clothing to keep them warm and comfortable throughout the winter season.

Salwa Gardening Club

The Salwa Gardening Club is planting vegetables in our Team Community Center , without harmful chemicals, and sharing extra produce. This helps cut down on pollution, keeps the community healthy, and brings people together. It's a way to make a difference while keeping things simple and natural.

Food Waste Reduction

Reducing food waste is essential to address global food insecurity and promote sustainability. Every year, around one-third of all food produced globally, is wasted, which is not only a significant economic loss but also has environmental consequences.

Reducing food waste can be done at various stages of the food supply chain, from production to consumption. This can include improving storage and transport, reducing overproduction, and educating consumers on food waste reduction strategies.

Hilton Salwa's Team Member's Restaurant went waste-free on #NoBinDay, which is an initiative where team members were encouraged to finish their meals to prevent food waste.

Turkey Donation Drive

The Salwa team held a garage sale to raise funds for Turkey earthquake relief. They sold items to gather money for those affected by the disaster. It's a small gesture with big impact, showing solidarity and support for those in need.
